Common Mistakes Made When Moving

June 28, 2019 by Social Agency

If you haven’t had to make a substantial move in years or it’s your first time away from the nest, you might have too much on your mind to get everything started on the right foot. First and foremost, the organization plays a vital part in the entire process, but your moving company should be able to guide you in the right direction. Everyone makes mistakes, big or small, but seeing the most commonly made errors should help you keep everything in line for an effective relocation.

Over Packing Boxes

Just because you’ve got enormous boxes from the store doesn’t mean that they should be filled to the brim with items. Think about when it comes time to move these boxes into a truck, and then back out into your new place. That one box with all your dishes and small kitchen accessories is going to be a pain to transport back and forth.

Last Minute Planning

There are few instances in life where procrastination will still be successful, but with moving your entire home to your new location isn’t one of those times. We’re sure that more adventures in the future will require a last-minute packed bag to get your adrenaline going, but all of your belongings will have to make this vital trip. Picking everything up and moving isn’t the way to go.

Slacking on Your Research

The least you can do before deciding on your preferred moving company is checking out the local businesses and making sure that they know exactly what they’re doing. Aside from that, if you need specific amenities like car transportation, cleaning services, or packing/unpacking services, keep your eyes peeled for those perks.

Ask as many questions as you can to clarify your needs are being met with your chosen movers. You should be able to reference their licensing, inquire about insurance, and any other small discrepancies that you’ll have to see for peace of mind. For more information on how Aragon Movers can help you out with your next move, residential or commercial, give us a call at (877)921-5678.

Signs That It’s Time to Move into a Bigger Office Space

June 28, 2019 by Social Agency

Unlike residential moves, commercial moves have some different signals as to when to make the next move. Every business decision you make is a vital one, and shouldn’t be made carelessly. Keeping your employees happy and comfortable keeps the work flow smooth and successful. For office movers, we’re the team that’s going to have your best interest in mind from start to finish.

Overcrowded Workspaces – Of course, most office spaces have their employees working in one common area for collaboration and flow. However, when you find yourself on top of your neighbor because the desk is overflowing with your work, it might be time to relocate. Crowded workspaces aren’t comfortable, making projects and collaborative efforts more difficult to work on and complete.

Meeting Spaces Are Dwindling – Most office settings share one common setting with several employees sitting within close proximity to one another. However, with each department servicing different things, meeting areas that are private are a must-have for effective brainstorming and collaboration within the work environment.

As more employees are hired and workspace is limited, they’ll have to eventually move into those private areas to compensate. If you’re office is at that point, it’s best see what other options are available.

No More Storage Space – Even if you don’t have an influx of employees, you may have paperwork and confidential files that need to be stored properly in-house. When all that space runs out, things start to get disorganized and can lead to a loss in productivity. Aside from paperwork, when you don’t have the space to store basic office supplies like paper, staplers, pens, and cleaning materials.

You Have the Budget – Looking at the numbers will always give you black and white evidence on whether or not your team can begin looking for a larger space that happily fits everyone. When crunching the numbers, consider that the more space you have for your employees, the less stressed they’ll be, thus leading to higher levels of productivity. Everyone will have their own area to go above and beyond for their work.

Must-Haves for Your Office Move

June 24, 2019 by Social Agency

Search for Leases Ahead of Time

When it comes time to search for another place to move your office into, there may be maintenance and installation work that needs to be done beforehand. Phone lines, internet, electricity, plumbing, etc. will take a few weeks, even months to complete, so being the hunt around 6 months before the expected move-in date.

Purge Your Current Space

As your company outgrows the current space you occupy, you may not need everything from the old space. Starting fresh can really boost the morale of your employees and allow for more organizational potential with purchasing new furniture and storage. One thing to keep in mind is that the less items you have may make a substantial difference in the cost of the move. If the change of scenery sparks a new direction for the office, then furnish accordingly with new pieces!

Request an Estimate Several Months Before

The benefit of having an estimate well in advance is that the company will have more than enough time to save up the money to pay for all the expenses. Offices have more logistics involved with moving everything because they have more equipment like faxing and printing machines, desks, chairs, etc. The final estimate price will include any other tasks that may need to be done to successful complete the transition.

Check Off a Few Things

With so many moving parts throughout this whole process, it can be tricky to keep track of everything that’s moving along with the company during the transition. You want to account for every item from the beginning stages through to the end. Taking inventory of what you have in the current space will give you an accurate idea of what you’ll need to make everything run smoothly.

Account for the Following:

  • Boxes Varied in Size
  • Tape/Applicator
  • Bubble Wrap
  • Permanent Markers
  • Measurements of the New Layout

Aside from these items listed, once you’ve settled on a time and date for the process, make sure to reserve the elevator or any type of access that won’t interrupt everything.

Tips to Make Your Move Less Stressful

June 24, 2019 by Social Agency

Moving into a new home that you’ll have new memories and hopefully expand your family in can be an exciting time. However, it can also be stressful with all the moving parts involved. From going to a real estate agent and looking for a house to unloading that last box into the new home, it’s a whirlwind that not everyone’s is prepared for – yet!

Get A Head Start

If you close on your new house early, you may have an overlap of a few weeks before the actual move-in date. If possible, start gathering items from each room gradually so you’re not overwhelmed as you approach the date. When you start this process, take inventory of everything you have in your house and see what can wait to be packed last minute, and what isn’t used daily.

Prepare

Nothing slows down the process of moving like not having the supplies that you need beforehand. It may not be a lot of items, but you’ll need an abundant amount of each supply to adequately organize.

  • Boxes – Acquire a variety of sizes to avoid overflowing large boxes that will be impossible to move when the process begins.
  • Tape/Applicator – The applicator will make securing the boxes much faster and easier than trying to cut and apply the tape with your hands, possibly leading to a huge mess.
  • Bubble Wrap – The fragile items you need to pack can’t just be thrown into the mix of everything else. With bubble wrap, you can stack plates, vases, and any other delicate belongings that would break otherwise.
  • Markers – If you have a ton of boxes going into different rooms when they reach their new location, then having permanent markers for labeling will make identifying them later a lot easier for you and the movers.

Time Everything Perfectly

Just like most industries, there is a busy season for moving companies as well. Depending on when you’re thinking about transitioning into your new humble abode can determine the rates for your move. Most residential moves are organized at the end of the month, so if possible, call Aragon Movers toward the beginning or middle of the moth to ensure the best prices for your relocation. Before hiring the services of a moving company, it’s essential to find out whether the moving company has a license to carry out such services. A reputable company has the necessary permits to conduct their services issued by the state and federal authorities. You can also compare the quotation of multiple companies to pick out an affordable one. It also helps you to the precise estimate the overall expenditure.

5. Storage Facility

Last but not least, hire a company that has the appropriate facility of goods storage. Most of the cases arise where there is a definite need of the warehouse for goods storage. Especially when you have to move at farther locations with a large number of items you must need a storage unit from the company. Do not hesitate to ask whether the company is approved for storage.

May 27, 2019 by Social Agency

We are living in the digital world meaning we have to deal with electronics very frequently. While traveling or moving several electronics, there should be a certain set of steps aiding . Electronic gadgets are expensive, delicate, and fragile. Therefore, a significant consideration has been required before packing them carefully. If you divide the packing method into simple steps, it will become an easy and exciting task.

Getting Ready for Packing

Keep in mind these few points whenever you are going to pack your appliances:

• Make a snapshot of the connections behind the electronics before unplugging them.
• Collect and save all the manuals before packing the large electronics items, just in case you may need any help.
• Shut down and Unplug all the gadgets and carefully.
• Use an air blower to remove the dust and thoroughly clean all devices.

Packing Material

If you lack the original cartons for the items, use an alternative that’s best for the device. Extra space in the storage box can damage the device and hinder the proper wrapping. Make sure you have the essential packing stuff like paper padding, bubble wrap or foam peanuts, durable wrapping tapes, scissors, and labeling stuff.

Organize the Wires

As you initiate the packing procedure first, organize and wrap all the cords attached to the gadgets. You can use color stickers or elastic bands for tying the wires. Sort them properly and store each cord in separate plastic bags. Place the wires in the boxes of the corresponding appliance.

Packing of Electronics

Before packing the electronics, deliberately remove the wall-mounted devices. Follow the manual instructions for the LCDs or LED TVs. Detach the heavy machines such as printers and sound systems. Don’t create a mess while packaging; fix it step by step one after the other. Make a separate box for small devices like CDs, USBs, and camcorders. Half fill every carton with foam peanuts and bubble wrap all the machines. You can use the Styrofoam sheets and towels to fill up the spaces.

Labeling

Labeling is the most vital task that should be handled sensibly. It saves you time and eliminates the chances of misplacement. Label everything accordingly, like wires and boxes. You can use the tags to label the wires. Write on stickers and even color code if it helps lessen the confusion.

Storage Temperature

Electronic devices such as TVs, computers, and batteries are heat sensitive. The extreme temperature of the storage place can harm your possessions. Try to store the boxes in mild temperatures. You may also consult the specialist or storage facility.
